Julie's bridal shower

David's brother Josh and his sweetheart Julie finally got engaged! Bridal shower attendees were Patty (Josh's mom), Me (Josh's sister-in-law), Emmy, Kiley, Krystal, Karly and Danyelle (Josh's nieces), Trisha (Josh's sister), Laynee (Josh's great-niece) and Julie's aunt Kathy (not pictured).

We made Julie a scrapbook filled with family memories.

We played a game called "How well do you know your groom?" Each memory of Josh she didn't know, she had to put a piece of bubble gum in her mouth. Needless to say, by the end, she could not blow a bubble!

This game was called "Dress the Bride". Julie dressed herself blind-folded and with hot pad gloves on. When she pulled out a bra, she said in an alarming voice, "Whose ARE these?" Julie was a good sport through it all.

Love at Home- Counsel From Our Prophet

"To you who are parents, I say, show love to your children. You know you love them, but make certain they know it as well. They are so precious. Let them know."

"Call upon our Heavenly Father for help as you care for their needs each day and as you deal with the challenges which inevitably come with parenthood. You need more than your own wisdom in rearing them."

"To you parents, express your love to your children. Pray for them that they may grow in faith and testimony. Pray that they may pursue lives of goodness and of service to others."

"What is most important almost always involves the people around us. Often we assume that they must know how much we love them. But we should never assume. We should let them know."

"May our families and homes be filled with love: love of each other, love of the gospel, love of our fellowmen, and love of our Savior. As a result, heaven will be a little closer here on earth."

Summer memories

Adam never passes up a cupcake! :)

Guess which one is mine? (Hint: the most beautiful girl in the world.)

You guessed it! My Emmy is the pretty one who loves to socialize.

It's amazing how much you can grow in such a small space! :)

Noah is all ready for church!

Adam sports the hat Grandma Patty gave him!

We've had such a fun summer and it goes by so quickly! Hence the old saying, "summers fly, winters walk". I love being with my kids and sharing every day with them. Each new day is an adventure!

Baby chicks!

Nothing like kicking off the summer with a visit to our friend Sherrie and her baby chicks! :)

Happy Independence Day!!!!

"The science of government is my duty to study, more than all other sciences; the arts of legislation and administration and negotiation ought to take [the] place of, indeed, to exclude in a manner, all other arts. I must study politics and war, that my sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy. My sons ought to study mathematics and philosophy, geography, natural history and naval architecture, navigation, commerce and agriculture, in order to give their children a right to study painting, poetry, music, architecture, statuary, tapestry, and porcelain." -John Adams

The generations of increased ignorance and apathy about true freedom and the proper role of government stops here! My children will know the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, will read the Federalist Papers, will know of the continuance of the war in heaven, and will overcome! They were born at this time in this place for a specific reason, and I will do everything in my power, and above my power, so help me God,
to help them achieve their divine purposes.
